Upcoming Changes in the Canadian IP Framework and IPIC Update
Jeffrey Astle, IPIC President and Intellectual Property Counsel with Pratt & Whitney Canada Corp.
Michel Gérin, Executive Director of IPIC
With the likely adoption of Bill C-8 (Combating
Counterfeit Products Act) and new regulations for the patent and trade-mark agent
exams that were published in the Canada Gazette, there will be many changes to
the legislative and regulatory framework for Canadian intellectual property in

The KWIPG is therefore delighted to present Jeffrey
Astle, IPIC president and IP counsel for Pratt & Whitney Canada, and Michel
Gérin, the executive director of IPIC, who will explain these as well as other
potential changes on the horizon due to the new CETA trade agreement with the European
Union. They will also provide an update on IPIC’s advocacy initiatives.
