Recent and Upcoming Changes in the Canadian IP Landscape & IPIC Update

The state of intellectual property law in Canada is in constant flux, and this has never been more true than today. Whether dealing with challenges to the patentability of software, international trade agreements that could dramatically impact copyright and pharmaceutical protection, or the validity of a patent on a “little blue pill”, the modern practitioner must be keenly aware of changes to the Canadian IP landscape.

The KWIPG is therefore delighted to present Roseann Caldwell, IPIC president and a partner with Bennett Jones LLP, who will try to help us make sense of some of these changes. Ms. Caldwell will be joined by Michel GĂ©rin, executive director of IPIC, to give an update on IPIC’s recent activities.
